    February 19th, 2012Orsi ParkanyiVideo Interview

I first met Kate Kendall at the first official Sydney Women As Entrepreneurs meetup in the private lounge of Hilton’s gorgeous Zeta bar, back in November last year. She happened to be in town and her friend, Michelle brought her along to the meetup. After it was all over, a few of us, entrepreneurial women, went out for some sushi and talked about all things important and exciting on that particular Thursday night. This is Kate. She is the intelligent, kind and friendly girl from next door, who knows exactly what is happening, where it is happening, when it is happening and she knows exactly whether you want to hear about it or not! It wasn’t by mistake, that she was chosen as one of the 100 most influential people in Melbourne by The Age. The Fetch (founded by Kate and going global) offers you the ultimate ‘what’s on guide’ to your city sharing the best flavours of the digital, business and creative space. Kate was kind enough to let me interview her in her home in Melbourne, on Australia Day. Enjoy the interview!! :)

“The women in my family are not exceptions! The women in this room and watching all around the world, are not exceptions. WE are not a special interest group! WE are the majority! And for far too long, we have underestimated ourselves, and been undervalued by others. It is time for us to aim higher, when it comes to women! To invest more, and to deploy our dollars to benefit women all around the world. We can make a difference, and a difference not just for women! But for the global economy that desperately needs their contributions. Together, we can make certain that the so-called exceptions begin to rule. When we change the way we see ourselves, others will follow! And it is time for all of us to think bigger”
