Nikki Durkin is a well-known name in the Australian startup world. She has been featured in smh as one of the top 100 most influential people in Sydney. Nikki is a true inspiration with passion for encouraging more women into tech-entrepreneurship. When she started her first online business, KultKandy, selling t-shirts on eBay she was only 15. At 18 she partnered with Pollenizer and launched 99dresses.com, the world’s first Infinite Wardrobe of Free Fashion for women. 99dresses opened for trading in September 2010 and has been growing ever since. She has recently been accepted into a three-month program with Silicon Valley’s illustrious Y Combinator. Today I asked her about how her journey started, how she fits into the male-dominated tech startup scene as a woman, and where she is headed.
